On my Needles
What I have been working on after long long sweater phase?
( I haven't shown my long sweater.. because I look
really big & funny on picture with 9 month belly )
Suddenly, I got a color knitting bug.
These are not my first attempt to knit with colors or
Fairisle technique ..
But Certenly it has been A learning curve..
I always wanted to knit Scottie from RYC's Classic babies
& thought may be It is good time to learn about steeking
using Eunny's Deep V argyle vest and put the method on scottie.
Alah.. What a bad idea..
-- because RYC yarn I have ordered for Scottie
is Superwash ( which is bad choice for steeking) and after couple of
hours attempting to refigure pattern out using steeking..
I just gave up whole idea & decided to do weaving method .
So..
I been working on both Eunny's pattern with steeking
& Scottie with fairisle using weaving method..
Eunny's deep argyle vest is really fun to knit..
Knitting Round & Round~~
my only complain is Gauge - even though I made a gauge
swatch.. Whole demension seems all whacked.
( I am using Knitpicks' merino style & Highland wool from Elann)
Width are pretty much same as the direction but length seems
almost 20% longer than suggested
..which makes whole pattern consume more yarns than
what Eunny have suggested.. ( I think I might
have to use about 250 more yards to complete..300!)
I am still knitting .. even though my good knitter conscious tells
me to reknit - but I would't stop ( because I would not be able
to wear this vest for a long time - until I get back to my formal
size before baby and I am having too much fun to stop).

Can't wait to see the finished vest! I did it, but got annoyed at the argysle so I used Fair Isle instead. It fits great though and is warm and yummy. You can check mine out at http://knottybynature.blogspot.com/
I love the brown and white though -it will go with everything.

Looks good so far! There's a knitalong page for that pattern-
http://vestalong.blogspot.com/
There is alot of mention of alot of knitters having problems with row guage, resulting in Loooong vests.
